This month felt like my baby changed before my eyes. She went from being a baby to being a…..not baby! I don’t know exactly how or exactly why or when, but I just looked at her one day and thought, “Wow, she just looks older.”
She also got her third tooth this month, this time on the top. This one was rough “teething-wise.” She got very clingy and needy, and just as we were beginning to wonder what was going on, there it was. Then a second one right next to the first on the top appeared within the next two weeks, and then yet another on the top – they were just coming like gangbusters!
She made me laugh because she would concentrate by sticking her tongue out. You could tell when she was really focusing on something! Her hair also seemed to be all of a sudden longer. I put it in a ponytail for the first time this month!
Of course we also had some downs. The poor baby got a cold that just wouldn’t let up, along with going through getting three new teeth in a month. It was a lot for the poor pumpkin. The poor thing was just so miserable! Nobody warned me about how awful it is as a parent when your baby is hurting. I got a taste of it after her first shots when she didn’t feel well, but that was only a day or two; this month’s hurt went on for a couple of weeks and was hard to watch and not be able to do anything to make it better!
But happily, it – as all things – did pass, and Maddie got back to feeling her normal, happy self. It’s hard to believe we’re only two months away from a year old – I’ll say it again: time flies when you’re having fun (and when you’re not)!!!
